Scania Buses Collide in Iran

Forty-four passengers died, and thirty-nine were wounded when two Scania buses collided and caught fire near Tehran. Both buses caught on fire on impact.

One of the buses was en route from Isfahan to Tehran, and a tire blew out. The driver lost control. The bus drove through a guard rail, and struck a bus head-on.

A representative of Scania will be studying the wreckage to determine the cause of the accident.

Iranian media is blaming the bus crash on the failure of cheap Chinese tires.
