Damage Payment Plan Rejected


The settlement proposal from an October 2010 accident in Jamaica has been rejected. The negligence suit was brought against the State-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Company.

The crash victims were on a church trip in the bus which flipped and fell to the bottom of a St. Ann ravine.

Some were injured and one teenaged girl died. Attorney-at-Law Sean Kinghorn

The judge, Justice Bryan Sykes, awarded one hundred and six million dollars in damages and told JUTC to pay within twenty-one days. The families rejected the confidentiality agreement, and want half of the settlement by December seventh, and the rest by December 31.
