12 Injured after a School Bus Crashed in Anaheim, California

School busAn Orange Unified School District bus jumped a roadside embankment and crashed into trees at about 3:30pm on April 24, near Anaheim Hills Golf Course, Anaheim, Southern California.

The superintendent of the Orange Unified School District, Michael L. Christensen confirmed that the incident occurred when the bus was taking some middle school students back home from El Rancho Charter Middle School, Anaheim.

According to the authorities, the bus was travelling at high speed when it lost control and ended up in a tilted position, leaning onto a tree.

Eleven students were injured in the incident, two of which are in critical condition.

The bus driver was also seriously injured. Authorities said that the driver was trapped inside the bus after the accident and the firefighters had to cut through the wreckage to rescue him.
